Mission Spotlight - The Jazz Night & Coffee Hut

In the lead-up to mission, I thought I might just throw the spotlight on a couple of the key events of the week.
Jazz Night
This will be a very “cool” event… and not just because of the weather! Con Campbell is a professional Jazz musician who has a band of similarly qualified musicians (including James Morrison’s brother) who will come and delight all who come with some high quality music. Not only this, but there will be some delicious desserts and coffee to go along with it. All of these factors, along with the location (the “Highfield Room” at the Greengate Hotel in Killara) will make it an event that many will want to come to.
As well as being and excellent musician, Con is also a committed Christian and engaging speaker, who will seek to integrate a thought-provoking gospel presentation with the music.
So think and pray about whether you have any friends who might be interested in coming to such an event. Tickets will go on sale (for only $12) after Easter… why not buy two and shout a friend a great night out?
The Coffee Hut
One of the other exciting activities in the mission will be the Coffee Hut, which will run after every school drop-off and before each school pick-up. A marquee will be set up on the front lawn where parents can drop in for a relaxing cup of coffee and a scrumptious cake or muffin. One or two members of our church will be joined by two of the Moore College students to serve those who come and just engage in conversation, while another two students will run games and provide nibbles for any pre-school children who come with the parents.
If you would like to be involved in the Coffee Hut ministry, please see Philippa McLoughlin soon.
