A Better Life

Many of you were at our official Mission Launch last Sunday, but for those who missed it, here are some of your questions answered:

Why are we having a mission in the firstplace? (ie why is there an “Outward” part of our mission statement?

  • All people should give God glory, for he made them and is the only one who is worthy of it
  • God will judge all people and those who have not responded to him will be sent to hell.
  • This is God’s heart, to seek and save the lost (that’s why Jesus came).

What sorts of things could be happening at the mission? (At this point nothing is set in place, but the following will give us some ideas)

  • Dialogue Meetings
  • School Drop-off Coffee Hut
  • Youth Outreach Night
  • School Scripture Assemblies + SUPA club
  • Informal dinners with Moore College students
  • Seniors’ expo
  • Family Bush Dance
  • Adults Jazz Evening

And finally (and perhaps most importantly), how can I be involved?

  • Praying – for students, ourselves, & our friends
  • Thinking – of ideas for things we could do
  • Organising – any or all of the above events (+ others)
  • Inviting – friends and other contacts to appropriate events
  • Coming – being at a number of events to help and spend time with people
  • Billeting – hosting a student or two in your home for the week
  • Helping – at some other events where your person-power would be appreciated
  • Sacrificing – consider taking an “RDO”, or telling the boss you can’t go away that week, etc
  • Follow-up – of your own contacts, or those made during the week.

It’s an excellent opportunity for us all to be involved in God’s mission to the people of our area. What will you do?
