9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1… lift-off! It’s now only 9 weeks till our Moore College Mission & it’s time for us to get the engines warmed up. Remind me again why we’re doing this? Oh yes, there are a few reasons: .
Jesus commanded to go into all the world to make disciples of all people (Mt 28:18-20)
- He also said we will be his “witnesses” to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8)
We are “the light of the world” that must bring light to the darkness around us (Mt 5:14)
- With Paul we have received a “ministry of reconciliation” whereby we can help bring people back to a right relationship with God (2 Cor 5:19)
We have hope and the only key to eternal life (Jn 6:68)
- All people are destined for judgment & those who don’t respond to Jesus in this life will be judged by him in the next (Jn 3:36)
There is no middle ground. We are either for Jesus or against him, and if we are for him, we have this mission to fulfil. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to have this group of godly men and women from Moore College who want to help us to fulfil it.
So, what are we to do from here? We’ll be thinking about this is more Detail at our mission launch today, but here are few ideas:
- Pray for your friends and family who don’t know Jesus, for courage for ourselves to invite people, as well as for the students who will be coming to help on the mission
- Get involved in planning or organising events – share your ideas, or even get something off the ground yourself
- Invite everyone you know to the different events that are on that week. Also, you can invite a Moore College Student over for dinner, or even to stay for the week.
- Pray some more.
It will be an exciting 8 days while the Moore College students are here, but it will only be a successful mission if we all get stuck in and take part, so that people might hear the gospel and so glorify God’s name.
