As you read this, I will be meeting together with our Christian brothers and sisters in the R-u-s-s-i-a-n city of I-r-k-u-t-s-k (capital of S-i-b-e-r-i-a). Don’t feel too sorry for me though – it is expected to be about 26C today!
It’s a great privilege to be able to come and spend time with this young church. I want to thank St Peters for the opportunity to come here. I thought I’d give you a quick run-down of what we’re doing for your prayers:
Sunday 18th – Preaching on Spiritual Gifts in church
Monday 19th-Friday 23rd – Steve will be doing some training of the preachers in the church on how to prepare a sermon and how to decide what to preach on. Lorna will be doing her 3 talks on “Being a Christian Woman” in the evenings. During this week, we have plans to visit one of the orphanages in which members of the church minister, as well as seeing some of the sights around I-r-k-u-t-s-k.
Sunday 25th – Preaching on Spiritual Gifts in church (2)
Monday 26th-Friday 30th – Summer Camp with two R-u-s-s-i-a-n Churches. Steve and Lorna will be doing three talks each on what it means to be a Christian man & woman respectively.
We fly home on the 31st and arrive early on the 1st of August.
Please keep us in your prayers and pray also for Emily, Daniel and Nicholas staying at home with their grandparents.
Steve.
