Phew! It was a marathon night at Parish Council on Tuesday, but there were a number of exciting things to discuss. Here’s just a few of the highlights:
- 2007 Moore College Mission – We started to think about some of the possibilities for our week-long mission next year. Although it seems a long way away, it is important that the organising process starts now. So please join us in praying for the mission & particularly for your friends and neighbours who don’t know Jesus yet.
- Christmas at St Pete’s – There are a number of great celebrations planned for this Christmas – the highlight of which will be the “Community Carols” in the East Lindfield Community Centre on the 9th of December. Put it in your diaries and plan to come along with family and friends.
- Church Website – we were all greatly impressed by our tour of the new church website. Many thanks to Monica Hu for all the effort she has put in to make this a reality.
- Property matters – we look forward with bated breath to the coming of the grass in early December, but we will have to wait for the new paving for the preschool parking until next year. We also approved funding for a new kitchen for the rectory (highlight of the night in my opinion!).
- Children’s & Youth Ministry – we were excited to hear of some of the plans for our Children’s and Youth ministry for 2007. A new afternoon kids’ club & some regular Youth outreaches combined with the other churches in our area are some of the highlights.
These are just some of the very important matters discussed on Tuesday night. If you look at the website next week, you should be able to download the minutes so you can see more of the details. Thank you for those who were praying for us, please continue to do so & all the more as we seek to do God’s will in this place next year.
