Retrenchment Support Report - Workshop 07

Dear Team,

I am so encouraged by the commitment of the various leaders to the on-going workshops. In addition to the fortnightly meetings some participants are also receiving one-on-one support between sessions. It is great to see the energy with which people want to help others in need.

Our workshop last night was very well supported and attended. My apologies for letting the evening run so late.

Andrew provided some excellent feedback on his job search and his recent appointment.

Many thanks to Rose, Steve M, Sharon, Neil, Gordon, Andrew, Bruce Y and Steve T for assisting with the session.

The session was also attended by Atat, Jim and Challice from the Ku-ring-gai Catenians (Catholic businessmen’s group) as leaders/assistants/observers. I have been speaking to them about our programme and we are planning a joint introductory evening (a re-run of the formal segment from our first evening at LEPS) at St Peters on 21 September. They will be running an ad in their St Ives and Pymble parish newsletters and I am hoping to get an ad in the LEPS newsletter. Rose and Steve M have kindly agreed to reprise their very successful first night presentations.

In the meantime the next workshop is scheduled for Monday 7 September at 7.30pm. This workshop will continue to concentrate on resume preparation (for newer participants) and interviewing practice.

I will need at least 8 people to assist. Please let me know if you are available?

If you know anyone else who is in need of retrenchment support, then please invite them to the next workshop.

Cheers,

Bruce
