Outreached to Retrenched - Next Steps

Since our session last week I have received very positive feedback from some of the attendees who are now looking forward to the support workshops.
Steve, Alison, Colin, Donald and I met tonight to discuss these next steps. We propose to run a one hour workshop on Monday 25 May at 7.30pm at LEPS Library with the following format:
- Individual review of resumes – each attendee will be assigned a reviewer/buddy from our Team to review and provide recommendations to improve their resumes. Buddies will be matched to attendees as appropriate
- Group sharing of resume experiences and Q&A
- General discussion and networking
The broad plan would then be to run workshops each fortnight on a Monday evening. Subject to numbers at the first workshop we will consider advertising in the LEPS newsletter (and others?) to see whether other people need assistance. The subsequent workshops will cover the other topics on our original list and will be broad enough to cover other support requests from new attendees.
At the session last week 8 people indicated an interest in attending the resume workshop. In addition, I have been advised of at least another 3 people who would like support. Assuming 8-10 people can attend this workshop, then we will need 8-10 people from our team.
Can you please tell me whether you are available and would like to assist with this workshop? I will advise last week’s participants who have asked for support of the planned workshop and ask them to register interest. We can then finalise our team before the night.
