Farewell from David Reay

There is an old proverb that is orginated in Denmark which says A guest is like a fish, after three days he stinks. A rather cynical view of hospitality but one that some can testify to. It is great to have Aunt Agatha to stay, given she is the salt of the earth type of person. But everyone knows that too much salt is bad for your health! House guests can be welcomed enthusiastically and farewelled with equal enthusiasm.
Which is one way of saying that I hope this two months’ “guest appearance” has not been a health hazard to anyone! Jen and I have genuinely enjoyed our time with you. The church is obviously well and lovingly led, and anyone who ventured into the church would be welcomed and would find the life of Jesus incarnated. As an introduction to my new life as locum or interim minister, St Peter’s was a godsend.
So thanks for making our time here so truly satisfying. If ever you send Steve off for another worldwide jaunt, give me a call!
Blessings
David Reay
