It’s hard to believe, but the year is almost at an end. It’s been an exciting year as we’ve seen God at work in many different ways. Here are just a few highlights to remember and thank God for:
- It was an exciting year for our children’s and youth ministries. Record numbers of kids are now regular members of Playtime (now 2 mornings a week), Scripture, Vibe, SUPA Club, Hype & the Couch.
- Our 7pm Congregation had their first Weekend Away together – it was a great time of fellowship, where we could evaluate the new service and make plans for the year.
- We had a huge turn up for our Easter and Christmas Crafts, organised at the 9.45am service by Alison Wild. Huge numbers of kids from the local community came for the first time to make decorations and cards.
- Steve and Lorna trekked off to S-i-b-e-r-i-a to visit the Pruetts and to do some teaching in their church in I-r-k-u-t-s-k.
- All the parents of the Sn@p kids came and enjoyed a service together with a great supper afterwards … a fantastic way for parents from outside the church to find out exactly what goes on at Sn@p.
- Members of the 9.45am congregation got together for a planning day in May to discuss the future of the service and to work out how to best serve each other and to reach out with the gospel. Four ministry teams are in operation seeking to improve our services, welcoming, pastoral care and outreach.
- We enjoyed visits from a number of missionaries and visiting speakers. In particular, it was great to have Baden Stace come and present some gospel talks in September.
These are just some of the many highlights, but really the greatest highlight was having the chance to meet together each week, to hear God speak to us through his word, to pray and praise together, and to encourage each other in our day-to-day Christian lives.
I want to wish you all a very blessed Christmas and pray that God will guide and protect you over the holiday period.
God bless.
