The Christmas Season has hit with a vengeance. The shops are full of Christmas Trees, tinsel, shining baubles, Santas, reindeers and presents with crisp bows on top.
But that’s not all, of course, our letter-boxes are overflowing with Christmas catalogues describing the latest bargains on everything from hams to holidays.
To make matters even more phrenetic, there is the seemingly endless array of Christmas work parties, family gatherings, carols services, music and dance recitals & school presentations.
In the midst of all these trimmings, it can be easy to lose sight of what Christmas is all about. To help us avoid this danger, over the next three Sundays, we will be looking at some of the most prevalent “Trappings of Christmas”.
In the next two weeks we’ll be looking at “Christmas Lights” and “Christmas Presents”, but this week, we’ll be thinking about Christmas Trees, where they came from and how we can make our Christmas Trees point to the true meaning of Christmas.
